Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter
You know you’ve found a keeper when you check your reflection during the day and see that subtle glow along your cheekbones. You look more healthy, more awake and it just brightens up your day.I’m head over heels with a new highlighter.
My new love interest is the Matte Radiance Baked Powder in the shade 01 Golden Nude. It’s a very smooth, baked formulation at builds beautifully. It’s not glittery or overly shimmery so no fear of looking like a disco ball. It’s gives the most beautiful soft glow and seems to smooth over imperfections rather than highlighting them - because who wants that right?
This one is the lightest shade of 4 shades, the others look a more bronze glow which might be nice for summer, or better suited to darker skin tones. So for me and my super fair skin this lighter shade is a year round winner.
It’s described as lasting for 8 hours and I think it lasts really well on me. Certainly if I was going out again in the evening after work I would probably give it a quick top up. As it’s such a soft and fine formulation you can build it up and top it up without it looking cakey at all.
A quick search online reveals that i’m not on my own in raving about this product. So if you are in need of a new highlighter you would be hard pushed to beat this one.
I got my one in a gift set that included a cream eyeshadow and a cream blush and this is by far and away my favourite item. I can feel a full size purchase coming on, it’s £27.00 on Space NK which you can find here. I have a picture below of the highlighter in action, it gives such a subtle glow. I see a lot of pictures now of a slick of something almost wet looking along the cheekbones, but I think this is a lot more natural. I haven't applied any filters or done anything to the image other than crop it down a bit.
