Kate Spade Bag Review
You may have seen my post in April about our first trip to the Kildare Outlet Village, if not click here. I bought a new bag from the Kate Spade outlet and I’ve been using and abusing it ever since. I thought it was time I updated you on what it is like to use and how it’s been holding up.
My bag is the Kate Spade Miles Newbury Lane Tote in Posy Pink. I remember being a bit worried that the beautiful pale pink shade would mark easily. The sales staff reassured me that it was made of Saffiano leather and so would be very durable. After non stop use I can confirm that that is the case. The leather is very hard and it hasn’t scuffed or marked at all, which I think is especially brilliant as it is so pale. There are no bash and bump marks on the corners and no hand marks on the handles. So if you spot a pale bag in this material that you like, and you’re worried about it marking, then quite simply don’t be.
I fling the bag about the car, leave it on the floor in the office and in restaurants and it has withstood all of my abuse no problem. It’s got loads of room in it too, I’m not the kind of girl that travels light!
I had a little scarf at home from Christian Dior and it’s same shade of pink as well as a light green that compliments the pink. I have no idea where this scarf came from I’ve had it so long, in fact I think my Mum got it free with something and gave it to me. So I just tie it round the handle which makes it even more summery.
The roomy interior of the bag has a central divider which is a zipped pocket itself, another zipped pocket on the back wall of the bag and two little pockets on the front internal wall. So there is plenty of room to stash all your stuff. The lining is cream with a black pattern, close inspection reveals that I haven’t managed to mark it with makeup or pen - yet.
The hardware of the bag is gold, which is lovely against the pink and the zipped pockets have matching leather pulls. The bag can be closed with a magnetic fastening, although I don’t do that very often, it’s a little fiddly and I like to be able to get at my stuff easily.
The straps for the bag are the perfect length for me, it fits on my shoulder and is comfortable to carry this way. I can also carry it by the handle and don’t find that it is too long and near the ground - but then I’m on the tall side.
I am really pleased with this bag, I still love it and I will be packing it away carefully when autumn arrives. I know i’ll be excited to unwrap it again next spring. I got the back for a brilliant price as we visited the Outlet Village on a special promotion day, so all in the bag was about €175. There are similar ones available online but the best place to go for a bargain it to the shop itself in Kildare. Hmmm maybe it’s time for another visit?
